Indo-Nepal Friendship (ITF) Taekwondo Championship Nepal

A day long Indo-Nepal (ITF) Taekwondo championship has been successfully organized by Taekwondo (ITF) Nepal at 'Chetana Kendra' situated at Kavre district on 27th Dec, 2005. Fifteen participants from Nepal and India participated in the Championship for 5 gold medals. |
In the weight category of (35-40) kg male, Abhishek Malla, Sanjeet Shrestha from Nepal , bagged gold medal and silver medal respectively whereas Avhkash Kumar and Bikash Kumar from India won bronze medal. Similarly, in the weight category of(50-55) kg male, Gayaji Khadka and Praveen Khadka of Nepal won gold and silver medals resp. with Gurmeet Singh and Kuldeep of India won the bronze medals. In (55-60)kg male, Jeet Bdr. Lama of Nepal , Darshan Singh of India and in (70-75)kg male, Suresh Shahi of Nepal and Ajeet Kumar Singh of India bagged gold and silver medals respectively. In (50-55) kg female, Pawandeep of India, Sharmila Mahat of Nepal and Birpal Kaur of India won gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
Taekwondo(ITF) Nepal was entitled with the 1st position with 4 gold and 3 silver medals whereas Punjab Taekwondo Association got the 2nd position with 1 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals. The championship was inaugurated by chief District officer, Mr. Sambhu Koirala of Kavre and the winners were awarded by their medals and certificates by Chief Instructor and president of Taekwondo, Mr. Laxman Basnet and Mr.Yaduman Shah Chairman of District Development committee of Kavre.
The chief district officer conveyed that such championships and seminars build eagerness in players. He also wished good luck to the players of Punjab Taekwondo Association and Taekwondo(ITF) Nepal . The welcome note was delivered by Secretary Mr. Ramraja Dahal of Taekwondo (ITF) Nepal . Similarly, president of Tekwondo(ITF) Nepal , Mr. Basnet in his speech conveyed the future plans and objectives of Taekwondo(ITF) Nepal . He informed that Nepal will be participating in the championship being organized in Colombo , Sri Lanka for the help of tsunami victims in coming 17th-19th march. He also said this championship will provide the players eagerness towards their game. He also said sort of friendship- matches develops good relationship and understandings among Nepali and Indian players. Ajya Kaur, team manager and team coach of Indian team conveyed their appreciation in organizing the friendship match in such a short period of time to Taekwondo(ITF) Nepal.

1st ITF Instructor's Refresher Course Nepal 2005

Taekwondo(ITF) Nepal had been busy this December. Recently, the first ITF Instructor refresher course had been organized by the Taekwondo(ITF) Nepal . The three day course was accomplished under the supervision of the president and the chief Instructor of Taekwondo(ITF) Nepal , Mr, Laxman Basnet. Twelve instructors & player from India (Panjab Taekwondo Association) and ten from Nepal participated the course. It was held in the club Olympia of Kathmandu, Nepal. One of the participants, instructor of the Punjab Taekwondo Association, Mr. Ajay Kaur said they got a chance to learn a lot about the game by attending the course.

President of Taekwondo(ITF) Nepal , Mr. Basnet held the course with an aim of developing capable instructors to produce skilled students. He focused on developing skills to be a proficient instructor. Chief Guest, Mr. Mahendranath Karmacharya , the chief of the sports committee of National Banijya Bank and Treasurer of Nepal Athletics Association distributed certificates to the participates at the last day of the course. >> Top | Photo Gallery |

The first ITF Training Camp Nepal 2005 and Black Belt grading was successfully held by Taekwondo (ITF) Nepal from 29th November-2nd December 2005 in Chetana Kendra, Kavre Nepal . The camp was conducted under the supervision of honourable Master Ally C.H. VII Degree from Malaysia and Founder President & Chief Instructor of Taekwon-do (ITF) Nepal , Mr. Laxman Basnet III Degree and was formally inaugurated by Chief District officer, Mr. Sambhu Koirala. |
The camp was a historic event and magnificent for all the participating students. It concentrated on advance kicking technique & sparring, self-defence, patterns, and basic techniques and speed training and Black Belt grading.
Amongst 50 participants, Mr. Gayaji Khadka and Mr. Suresh Shahi were able to get Black Belt 1st Degree whereas Mr. Prabin Khadka, Mr. Uddhav Shahi, Mr.Kiran Maharjan and Mr. Mahesh Maharjan succeeded to get Black Belt 2nd Degree. The Camp was concluded with a formal program under the presidence of Mr. Laxman Basnet and Master Ally as a chief guest, Master Ally in his speech highly expressed his sincere gratitudes towards Taekwon-do ITF Nepal for being invited to conduct the Camp, he praised highly the dedication, sincerity, discipline and commitment of Nepalese players as well and being please with performance of players, he wished for their success in International events and rewarded all the participants with participation Certificate.
Mr. Laxman Basnet expressed his sincere thanks and gratitudes to Master Ally and declared to organize such Camp every year at international level and concluded the program. >> Top | Photo Gallery
