Mr. Gayaji Khadka Participated in Open Cup, Russia

Mr. Gayaji Khadka, one of the player of Taekwondo ITF Nepal, Participated in "Taekwondo Open Europe Cup of peter the Great championship" on 9th and 10th Dec., 2006. In St. Petersburg, Russia.

Mr. Khadka, participated 50 kg free sparing category who lost his fight with Jelchov Archar, Ukraine. Players from 13 different countries were participating in that competition. >> Top | Photo Gallery


2nd ITF Training Camp Nepal & Black Belt Grading, July 6th-8th, 2006

9th July 2006, Nepal

Taekwondo (ITF) Nepal organized 2nd ITF Training camp & Black Belt Grading successfully. Altogether 56 participants along with 16 participants from India Participated in the Camp. The camp was held in different place Swoyambhu (One of Famous Buddhist Temple), Nagarkot (One of Famous Tourism Place) and Hansada Yoga Ashram ( Yoga school located in Kavre) on 6th-8th July. The Camp was conducted by Mr. Laxman Basnet, where he imparted technical idea of ITF pattern, kicking technique, power breaking technique, self defense, one step sparring, free sparring and other technical side of the ITF. And Hrishi Kumar Panchasil Chairman of Hansada Yoga Ashram imparted teaching of Yoga to the player has a greater significant. In the mean time Mr. Basnet Conducted Black Belt test of Mr. Raghu Nath Basnet and Mr. Raj Lama.

In the closing ceremony, Chief Guest, Hrishi Kumar Pran Murti President of Character Foundation Association distributed certificates to the participants and clarified on the Taekwondo and Character building. He also cited the theory formulated by respected late Swami Sachitananda "Understanding on mind, responsibility on shoulder and Honesty on heart" helps player proceed ahead and build character. He also emphasized on the Yoga and Sports should go together so as to make players morally, physically and intellectually sound.

On the Occasion Mr. Sandeep K. Surya President of Indian Taekwondo Board said "He was impressed by the training imparted by Mr. Laxman Basnet. He clarified only few Instructors can train seriously like this" and Mr. Basnet wished this kind of Camp be continued organize in the every years too, expecting participants from other countries too. As he said yoga and Taekwondo are alternatives to each other for Physical Fitness, Mentally balance, socially cooperation and peace so we should go together. Taekwondo (ITF) Nepal Won Bronze Medal in Asian open all style sidokan full contact Karate

Mr. Gayaji Khadka, a player from Taekwondo (ITF) Nepal secured bronze medal on the 55 kg in 2 nd Asian All Style Sidokan full body Contact Karate Tournament held on 12 th -13 th May 2006 at Hyderabad , Pakistan . Mr. Khadka entered in semifinal after defeating players from Pakistan and Iran in previous rounds but was forced to be satisfied with only bronze medal after facing defeat with another Pakistani player in the semifinal.

Similarly Mr.Uddav Shahi, Mr.Kiran Maharjan and Mr. Raghu Nath Basnet, also from ITF Nepal and in the same wt. group were defeated by players from Iran , Afghanistan and Pakistan respectively on point's basis.

Nepal , Iran , Pakistan , Afghanistan , Sri Lanka , Japan and South Korea participated in the tournament amid the presence of Mr. Kancho Yusuju (10 th Dan, Black Belt), current world director of Sidokan Karate. Initially intended to be and called "Mini World Cup", the tournament was renamed "2 nd Asian" by the host when only Asian countries showed interest in participation. In the tournament, Mr. Uddav Shahi from ITF Nepal demonstrated ITF Pattern.

ITF Nepal showed its presence in the tournament to enable its players to gather international experience which would be valuable to them in other international tournaments going to be held in future. Among others present in the tournament were Mr. Laxman Basnet (Chairman of ITF Nepal and team coach), Mr. Surath Bahadur Thapa (Team Manager) and Mr. Ram Kumar K.C. (Official Cameraman). In a ceremony, held on 21 st may at Kathamndu, vice President of IT'F Nepal , Mr. Binod Malla welcomed all the participants. Similarly ITF Nepal president Mr. Laxman Basnet presented cash prize Rs.5000/- to the bronze medalist Mr. Gayaji Khadka.

In the programmed Mr. Basnet expressed his views about the achievement made by ITF Nepal player by securing the bronze medal in an international event and about his hopes and beliefs of ITF players demonstrating improved performance in other Martial arts international tournaments in future. The ceremony was organized by vice president Mr. Rajan Khatri and one of the members Mr. Surendra Khatri also expressed some of his views regarding the event. >> Top | Photo Gallery

 


Mr. Laxman Basnet as a Referee in the Euro-Africa ITF Championship, 2006 Nigeria

Mr. Laxman Basnet, Founder President & Chief Instructor of Taekwon-do (ITF) Nepal returned to Nepal after participation in the International Referee Course Class A & B and Euro-Africa ITF Championship held from 31st March to 2nd April 2006 in Lagos Nigeria.
The Course was conducted by General Secretary of ITF Master Trevor Nichols. In which more than 40 member were participated from Nepal, Nigeria, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Zambia, Algeria, UK and Ireland. After The Completion of Referee Course, Mr. Basnet was playing role as a Referee to Euro-Africa ITF Championship. At the meantime, Mr. Tibollo, Vice President of ITF Informed to Mr. Basnet that Mr. Tibollo and Grand Master Choi Jung Hwa President of ITF are interested to visit Nepal on 2007. Likewise General Secretary of ITF Master Trevor is also scheduled to come to Nepal on November 2006.

President and Chief Instructor of Taekwon-do (ITF) Nepal Mr. Laxman Basnet and Member Mr. Surendra K.C Participated in the 40 th anniversary of ITF & International Instructor Course, which was held in Malaysia from March 11-13, 2006. The International Instructor Course was conducted by ITF President Grand Master Choi Jung Hwa, son of founder President of ITF late Gen. Choi Hong Hi, in which 100 participants took part from Malaysia, Nepal, Korea, Hong Kong, London, Australia and Singapore.
During the course Mr. Basnet discussed with Grand Master Choi President and Mr. Tibollo Vice President of ITF about Taekwon-do (ITF) Nepal . They promised to support for the Development of Taekwon-do (ITF) Nepal.

Meanwhile Mr. Basnet and Mr. K.C. attended ITF Training Seminar held in Sri Lanka on 18 th March 2006 which was conducted by Mr. Michel Muleta, President of United ITF Australia. In the seminar Mr. Basnet imparted Kicking Technique. Mr. Muleta invited Taekwondo (ITF) Nepal to take part in 7 th World Junior ITF Championship going to be held on September 2006 Australia. After This Seminar Mr. Basnet going to participate in International Referee Course Class A & B, and Euro-Africa ITF Championship which is going to be held on March 31 to April 2 nd 2006, Lagos Nigeria. >> Top | Photo Gallery



Mr. Lee Agree to help Taekwondo (ITF) Nepal as Technical Advisor

Mr. Binod Malla vice president of Taekwondo (ITF) Nepal was visited to ITF Japan ( Tokyo ) on 1st week of March. Mr. Malla and Members of ITF Japan Discussed about developing ITF Taekwondo each other. Mr. Malla requested to Mr. Lee Jong Mok to help as a Technical Advisor of Taekwondo (ITF) Nepal . Mr. Lee Jong Mok, General Secretary of ITF Japan who is technical chairman of International Taekwondo federation too. After discussion with Mr. Mall, Mr. Lee agrees help to Taekwondo (ITF) Nepal as a technical advisor. >> Top
